Cuisine and restaurants in Greece


Greek cuisine – is an abundance of vegetables and herbs, dairy products (especially soft cheese), olives and olive oil, bread and wine. Of “heavy” often cooked lamb and poultry, are not shy as beef and pork.

At any point in the Greek city will certainly discover some diner, barbecue, bakery, coffee shop, bar, tavern, beer or Vodka Room. Restaurants with international and Greek cuisine also is everywhere, and the portions are not offend even the most hungry travelers.

Greek salad

Meet the authentic Greek salad recipe – it is this, what is served in the taverns of the country.

Ingredients: red onion medium sized, 4 tomatoes, medium cucumber, two handfuls of olive varieties “kalamata”, pitted, 200g cheese “feta” or just cheese. Also need two fresh sprigs of oregano, dried oregano teaspoon white wine vinegar and olive oil (of course – only the Greek).

Onion cut in half and chop, to shift into a bowl and sprinkle with dried oregano. Drizzle with vinegar and olive oil, cover and set aside for a few hours. Then cut the tomatoes into pieces medium sized cucumber cut lengthwise, then cut into thick slices. Stir in tomatoes, onions, olives and leaves with a sprig of oregano, season with 2 tbsp. 8 tablespoons of vinegar and Art. tablespoons of olive oil. Crumble “feta”, sprinkle with remaining oregano and combine with salad. Steen igiya su!
